EastEnders spoilers: Karen Taylor attacks Kandice after getting a shock on Boxing Day in EastEnders
Its fireworks on Boxing Day for the Taylor family, but not the good kind when a familiar face shows up on Karens doorstep to ruin the day.
Karen has been working hard to prepare a lovely Boxing Day for her family, putting on a lovely spread of a big posh buffet. But shes in for a shock when a familiar face shows up on her doorstep – Mitch. He arrives asking to see Keegan and Karen cant quite believe her eyes that hes there. Angry, she tells him to get lost and returns to dinner with sister Kandice whos shown up to join in the festivities.
But chaos ensues when Karen realises Kandice is hiding a secret – and that secret is Mitch hiding out in the bathroom. Why has she got him in there?!
Karen makes immediate assumptions about the scenario and accuses the pair of having an affair. As tensions boil over Karen picks up a weapon to use against her sister – the trifle, which gets dumped all over Kandices head.

And not done there, her sister ends up with half of the rest of the buffet being used as missiles against her.
Lorraine Stanley and Zack Morris, who play Karen and Keegan, reveal what goes down with the Taylor family showdown.
How does Karen feel when she sees Mitch at the door?
Lorraine: She is stunned, Karens expecting Kandice so when she sees Mitch there, its really unexpected and shes completely shocked. She didnt think Mitch would come back, especially after he stole Teds money so shes gobsmacked to see him there. There is also a bit of Oh my Mitch is here but ultimately shes shocked.
Theres always a bit of tension between Karen and Kandice, whats going on there?
Lorraine: Oh there is, and especially when it comes to blokes. Kandice has always gone after Karens boyfriends in the past so I think the tension comes from when they were really young. Also, Kandice is such a snob and Karen really tries her best to keep up appearances but Kandice always manages to find fault.
Karen ends up chucking a trifle over Kandice…
Lorraine: Well, its very chaotic as youd expect, it starts off well, and like I mentioned something happens leaving Karen coming to the wrong conclusion. Karen goes completely berzerk and ends up throwing the trifle over her sisters head.
Were those scenes fun to shoot?
Lorraine: Well we only had one take to do it so I had to get it right. I felt quite nervous actually as I knew it was in one take, but it was really exciting. You dont get to throw a trifle over someones head every day do you?

Whats Boxing Day like for the Taylors?
Zack: Boxing Day at the Taylors is a mixture of emotions and there are a lot of ups and downs. Keegan goes from one extreme to the other. He tries to sort things out with Louise and invites her around, hes happy that shes there and then theres the whirlwind of his dad coming back, which gets a bit on top of him.

How does Keegan feel when Mitch shows up looking for him?
Zack: As you can imagine hes not very happy about it, its a mixture between confusion and just frustration really. Last time Mitch did what he always does, but Keegan had put his guard down – he didnt think his dad would do it to him again, but he did.
What else can you tease about 2019 for the Taylors?
Lorraine: Mitch is back again and he has a surprise thats going to shock the whole family, I cant give too much away but well be seeing a lot more of Mitch in Walford.
Zack: Well, the Taylor family is getting bigger, Chantelle is finally coming into the show so thats going to be good.
