A Coronation Street child is set to turn the cobbles air blue in the new year after they are taught the f-word by Gemma Winter – and proceed to then address their teacher with the swear! And given that the child in question is Joseph, it could be another big setback for Gemmas potential relationship with Chesney Brown.
As Chesney and Gemma get closer, they seem to finally be heading for a relationship and Gemma is excitedly preparing a romantic meal for her new bae when she messes it up and drops the f-bomb in Josephs earshot.
The impressionable Joseph will start repeating the foul language, leading to an incident at school which leaves Chesney fuming with Gemma. But dont worry – before you start hammering Ofcoms number into your phone, we wont hear any profanity as Joseph and Gemmas naughty language will be covertly censored.

Show boss Iain MacLeod told Metro.co.uk: We use a lot of judicious cutting! Theres a cut to a car horn and theres also the Coronation Street cat licking itself as an option but on reflection that might not be wholly appropriate.
As part of Chesney and Gemmas ongoing will they/wont they story, just when it looks like they will, she teaches Joseph quite a lot of rude words. She is cooking Chesney a meal and burns her hand and says Mother-F… and then it pans outside to said cat. Unfortunately Joseph then takes that to school and may or may say it to a teacher…
Awkward!
Will this put Gemma and Chesneys romance on the skids yet again? Iain also teased another major story for Gemma in the new year.
He added: I do love that character. Shes at her best when shes in the middle of everything and causing loads of trouble. Theres a big story that will play out for her in the next 12 months.
