Coronation Street spoilers: Beverley Callard confirms return for Charles Lawson as Jim McDonald
Liz McDonald may have had her heart broken earlier this year by Jims callous scheming with newcomer Hannah, but thats not the end for these two in Coronation Street.
Jim quit Weatherfield after his terrible scheme came to light, where hed been pretending his new love interest Hannah [Ellis Ryan] was in fact his and Lizs dead daughter Katie in order to scam her of her life savings.
Although during the scheme Jims heartstrings had been pulled and hed realised his love for Liz, the damage was done and Liz was devastated to learn the truth.
But Liz is set to come face to face with deceptive Jim once again when the actor returns in the new year.
Speaking to metro.co.uk Beverley Callard confirmed that he will be returning, saying his comeback is definite.
But how will Liz cope seeing him again?

I dont know how she could forgive that but I think there is this chemistry there, Bev told us. But also, I am hoping that theyll keep Louis Emerick as well, who plays Mike. Weve been mates for 30 years in real life, Louis and I, and weve actually played together as a couple years ago. Do you remember the character of Tony? Tez Maynard played him and he was a brilliant actor and I loved him, but I really wanted Louis to get that, and I was ringing Louis saying “Get your agent to get you an audition for this” so its great hes come in, so Im hoping I can have both.
Charles had previously hinted to metro.co.uk that hed be winging his way back to the cobbles, saying: Its to be hoped that the dynamic in the future will be Jim, Liz and Steve, that would be great for next year, maybe.

Its not known exactly when he may return as hes on tour for some of next year, but when he does no doubt itll be an explosive reunion with a scorned Liz! Thats of course if Liz makes it into the new year, as shes currently battling against a paranoid Jenny, who believes Liz has been having an affair with Johnny.
