Christopher Eccleston has admitted that he had a miserable experience and gave a dreadful performance working on Thor: The Dark World.

It wasnt exactly fantastic!

The former Doctor Who actor played Malekith, the ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, in the 2013 Marvel movie but his experience wasnt as glamorous as you might imagine, largely due to the huge amounts of makeup he had to wear.

They said to me in the negotiations, “Therell be a little bit of make-up,” the 54-year-old explained.

What they didnt say was that itd be seven hours of it, which was very dishonest of them. That was a miserable experience and a dreadful performance.

However, he revealed that the cast and crew were a dream to work with, particularly director Alan Taylor and dreamy star Chris Hemsworth.

I loved working with Alan – hes a great director, he said. And Hemsworth was fantastic. A generous actor who really had his feet on the ground.

It comes after the acting legend revealed that he was blacklisted by the BBC following his exit from Doctor Who.

I made an agreement I would say nothing about my departure. And I honoured that, because I was looking after the production, he said during Jo Whiley and Simon Mayos BBC Radio 2 show.

And then the BBC issued a statement, they put a quote from me, that they had written, saying why Id left – because I was tired – which, any producer reading that [will think] “well, we wont give Chris Eccleston a job, because he gets tired.”

So I threatened legal action, and I got an apology printed in all the newspapers. The BBC had to make a statement, apologising for attributing quotes to me. Nobody will go on record as saying this, but my agent said, “You need to get out of town because youre not going to work.”

Obviously, when your careers been damaged, in the way my career was damaged, forgiving them… being part of a hit show… why would you want to [talk publicly about it]? You know?
