Danny Dyer will be delivering Channel 4s Alternative Christmas message this year after his iconic rant on Brexit has him labelled the unofficial man of the people.

The Eastenders ardnut will give a speech on his thoughts on the year gone by and how he feels the state of the country is in.

So basically – strap in, its going to be a bumpy one!

In a video clip teasing the upcoming message, he tells the camera: That shambles down in Westminster, what a palaver that is. I mean, where are our leaders? Where are they? Theres been more backstabbing than we have in Albert Square.

He also brands President Donald Trump an absolute melt so hes clearly been having chats with his Love Island daughter Dani and her fella Jack Fincham.

Other moments will see him remember the 100 year anniversary of women gaining the right to vote, the Armistice, as well as modern day issues like the MeToo movement.

I teach my girls they can be who they want to be, and I try and teach my boy to be a good man, he tells the cameras.

Now dont get me wrong, I aint no saint, you know, I can do better. I think we can all do better. And as dads, we cant stop trying to do better until theres no need for hashtags to remind us that no means no.

Life can get a little stressful and we might get on each others nerves a bit, he added. But remember how much there is to be proud of, to be grateful of, and get yourself a Harold, you know, if you can. Merry Christmas, my loves.

The annual Alternative Christmas Message was launched by Channel 4 in 1993 as a response to the BBCs airing of the Queens Christmas speech.

Previous speakers have included Katie Piper shortly after her acid attack, Neville and Doreen Lawrence – Stephen Lawrences parents, and Adam Hill.

Last year, it was made by five children who survived the Grenfell Tower disaster.

The Alternative Christmas Message airs Christmas Day at 3.5pm on Channel 4.
