Ginninderra can’t delay the inevitable against Tuggeranong

It was a delayed start but Ginninderra couldn't avoid the inevitable as they were thrashed by Tuggeranong Valley at Kippax Oval on Saturday.

Valley opening bowler Benji Floros put the win down to keeness levels and said Ginninderra weren't thrilled about chasing on a green top.

"The pitch was soft and we were really keen to bowl as anyone would and they werent keen to bat, it turned into a really good day for us," Floros said.

"With ball didnt start to well but really took opportunities when they came and from there it was building pressure as much as we can.

"We'll have a couple of drinks to celebrate a win like everyone should after tough cricket."

Adam Blacka (3-17) was the pick of the bowlers while the reliable Shane Devoy (2-53) and toiler Craig Devoy (3-63) picked up the rest.

Floros was on representative duties in Queensland last week but replaced Daniel Burgess to come back in and get the win.

"It was good checking MyCricket last week seeing the guys cashing in and setting up a total for us to play at today," Floros said.

"I was able to sub in and bowl and get a couple of poles. Blacka bowled really well, he was looking for his line early but hit the deck hard after a couple of overs and made them play shots.

"We're into the white ball stuff after Christmas and we're in the top three so it's been a great start from us and we just have to keep winning, no matter how."

Meanwhile, ANU were always going to battle chasing down Weston Creek Molonglo's 3-447 but there were solid knocks from Scott Murn (83) and Daniel Leerdam (72) before they were all out for 235.

Creek paceman Djali Bloomfield (5-76) was unstoppable with his opening partner in crime Harry Medhurst (3-54), before Monty Poonia (2-8) completed the trifecta.

Eastlake collected the points against North Canberra-Gungahlin as they passed 175 with two wickets in hand thanks to digs from Sam Gunning (57) and Nikhil Mathai (42).

Norths Finlay McGurk (4-41) and Lachlan Whatmough (3-31) were the pick of the bowlers Eastlake were all out for 193 and the visitors finished their second innings at 2-58.

The points were shared between Queanbeyan and Western Districts after rain only 36 overs. Queanbeyan were 4-121 chasing 236 when played was called.
