XXXTentacion has been revealed as the surprise guest on the anticipated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack, after weeks of speculation.

However, its turned out to be rather eerie as the late musician raps about dying a million times before his actual untimely death in June.

The Spider-Man: Into the Verse soundtrack was released on Friday and features songs from the likes of Nicki Minaj, Post Malone and Jacquees.

XXX, real name Jahseh Onfroy, appears on the track Scared of the Dark alongside Lil Wayne and Ty Dolla $ign. The late rapper recorded his own verse and the bridge, in which he poignantly reflects on the pain he had suffered in his short life.

Lyrics include: Okay, put my heart to the side, In my feelings, hoe, lets ride.

In the bridge, he then sings: If only you count the tears Ive cried, A million times, I swear Ive died, Im trying, but its still not right, the only time I want her is night.

The soundtrack producers were determined to keep news of XXXs guest appearance under wraps, with a source telling Pitchfork: It was meant to be a surprise that he was on the record and soundtrack.

XXX died on 18 June at the age of 20 after being robbed and shot in his own car by two men in the car park of a bike dealership. So far, three people have been arrested in relation to the incident, including Michael Boatwright who is facing first-degree murder charges.

Last week, XXXs posthumous album Skins was released and is expected to reach number one on the Billboard 200 chart later today. According to Hits Daily Double, the 10-track album has amassed an estimated 150,000-160,000 of streaming equivalent sales with between 50,000-60,000 of those pure sales.

Skins has just one guest feature from Kanye West and follows on from the success of XXXs second album, ?, which landed at number one in the US.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie stars Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson and Mahershala Ali, and is out in cinemas now.
