Audrey Roberts and Rita Tanner are shocked to learn of their dear friend Archie Shuttleworth in tonights Coronation Street.
Craig spots Audrey upset in the pub and asks her whats wrong, when she explains that shes learned of the loss of a friend.
She and Rita were good friends with the old Corrie favourite, and the two begin to reminisce about the former undertaker, joking that his will be the funeral to end all funerals, having worked in the undertaking business himself.
Archie was played by Roy Hudd, who helped Audrey suss out that Richard Hillman a serial killer and who carried a torch for Gails mum.
He previously returned to the soap for Blanches funeral, and last appeared eight years ago.
