Vasse Valley hemp farm launches new product line

Vasse Valley hemp farmers are about to launch their first product line at an event on Saturday with the team from the Yelverton Protea Farm. Flavours and Flowers will feature the hemp farms three new products: a roasted hemp seed crumble, a roasted hemp seed dukkah and a roasted hemp seed paste. Vasse Valley co-owner Chris Blake will be showcasing the products at the protea farm with free tastings and recipe ideas to spice up meals. Co-owner Bronwyn Blake said the products were now available online and the event would be an opportunity to officially launch them to the public. Yelverton Protea Farm co-owner Laura Thorpe said it would be a great opportunity for people to check out their nursery and taste hemp food, possibly for the first time. Co-owner Jade Thorpe said they were happy to jump on board to support the hemp farmers and their venue would provide the ideal location for the event. “We have a big nursery on the Bussell Highway and we have just put a sign up out the front, so this event is a chance for us to gain more exposure as well,” he said. “It is a great chance for both of our businesses to open our doors to the general public.” “We both have lovely things to offer so we thought we would do an event and boost each others businesses,” Ms Blake said. The event will be held from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, December 15 at the Yelverton Protea Farm, 7211 Bussell Highway, North Jindong.
