Saoirse Ronan has revealed that she felt very comfortable performing sex scenes for Mary Queen of Scots with her rumoured boyfriend Jack Lowden.

The Ladybird actress mentioned that she and Jack looked after each other during the whole process after theyve reportedly struck up a romance.

We choreographed the whole thing so it felt like a dance, she explained.

Jack and I are very comfortable with each other. We looked after each other.

I just kept thinking about, what was it, When Harry Met Sally, she admitted. But we had Wayne [McGregor, the films choreographer] in there, which was brilliant.

Saoirse explained that the sex scene is essential to the story and ended up being empowering AF.

They lived in a time when sexuality and sex was quite a fluid thing. Sex was a separate thing from marriage, she said. As a queen, though, sex was performed in order to produce an heir.

What was so great about having that moment when Henry (Jack) goes down on her is that its purely for her.

Thats a sexual revelation purely for her.
