SHINees tight group mentality was on display earlier today as they supported Onews enlistment in the Korean military.

Military service is a mandatory requirement for males aged between 18 and 35 in South Korea, with service usually lasting two years.

While there are some exceptions to the rule, the established K-Pop singer honoured his conscription as he enlisted in the military today (10 December) as an active-duty soldier.

The group marked the moment on Instagram, with Key, Taemin, and Minho accompanying Onew on the momentous day.

The hashtags Shining SHINee, SHINee and the words Stay healthy everyone accompanied the smile-strewn post, as fans passed on their well-wishes to Onew ahead of his conscription.

The star penned fans an emotional letter as he signed up, saying it is always regretful to leave but Ill be back to greet you again.

One things for sure: Onew will have plenty of fans to return to once he finishes his military service.
