Internet guests to AvengersEndGame.com may be a little surprised to see that is there is no Iron Man or Captain America.

The website to hold the much-anticipated trailer, AvengersEndgame.com, wont actually take you to that clip.

In the plot twist of all plot twists, it redirects you to 20th Century Foxs Once Upon a Deadpool, that studios upcoming, toned-down re-release of Deadpool 2.

Its a cheeky trick and also hilarious for Deadpool fans who know the anti-hero character to be a wisecracking sort.

The joke is on Avengers fans who near lost their minds at the surprise drop of the trailer on 7 December, which finally announced the name of Avengers 4.

The trailer begins with Tony Stark leaving a message for Pepper Potts, telling her part of the journey is the end. He also informs her that food and water have run out and that oxygen is also running out.

We then see Black Widow saying: Thanos did exactly what he said he was going to do. He wiped out 50% of all living creatures, while the trailer is interspersed with shots of Captain America crying and looking at a picture of Peggy.

The trailer also shows the return of Hawkeye, and the re-introduction of Ant-Man Scott Lang, who arrives at Cap and Black Widows door.

While we dont learn that much, we now know that Ant-Man is out of the Quantum Realm, and Hawkeye is out of retirement.

More: Deadpool

There had been countless close calls for the trailer, with it initially anticipated that the Russo brothers would unveil the trailer at a special Infinity War screening and Q&A in Los Angeles on 28 November – but they refused to discuss the upcoming film.

The Infinity War trailer first dropped on 29 November 2017, but that date came and went.

Once Upon a Deadpool is in cinemas 12 December, while Avengers: Endgame will not be with us until 26 April 2019.
