Its official, Wesley Snipes is down for a Blade remake. Now all we need is Marvel to hop on-board.

This will probably make you feel super old, but its been 16 years since Wesley last put on Blades dapper leather coat. If that wasnt bad enough, the first movie was released in 1998 so yep, a whole 20 years and counting.

Where did the time go?

Well, Wesley, 56, is raring to go for another outing as the part human, part vampire but theres just one obstacle – Marvel.

One fan on Twitter stated that Blade needs a remake, the Hollywood actor replied: Up to Marvel….my teeth still sharp.

The excitement is real!

Before the Avengers swooped in to dominate the box office, Blade was one of Marvels first offerings and widened the door for superheroes in the cinema space.

The idea of another Blade installment isnt too far-fetched as Marvel president, Kevin Feige, previously revealed he was open to the idea, although it might take a while to get off the ground.

Speaking to JoBlo in July, Kevin said: We think it would be cool. Someday. My tenure at Marvel started 17 years ago, and there were two things that sort of launched the modern era. One was X-Men, which was the first thing that people said, “Oh, theres life here”.

But a few years before that, there was Blade. A character nobody had heard of at all, had only appeared in a few issues of Tomb of Dracula or something, turned into a big franchise.

Fans have long wondered why Blade, despite being one of the franchises earliest movies, has never joined the other superheroes in the MCU.

Teasing future plans, Kevin added: I think Blade is a legacy character now. I think it would be fun to do something with him one day.

In the meantime, Marvel have bigger fish to fry with fans desperately awaiting the Avengers 4 trailer, which is rumoured to arrive sometime this week.
