Travelling with drugs on board, police make roadside arrest
A WOMAN is due to appear in court after police allegedly seized a quantity of drugs from her during a vehicle check. Central North Police District officers stopped a motor vehicle travelling on the Barrier Highway, a short distance east of Cobar, at 12.10pm on Sunday, December 2. Central North Police District officers stopped a motor vehicle travelling on the Barrier Highway, a short distance east of Cobar, at 12.10pm on Sunday, December 2.
Police will allege they had cause to conduct a search of a female occupant of the vehicle.
“As a result, police located a number of substances believed to be prohibited drugs,” officers said.
“Also located was a quantity of prescription medication.”
Officers then arrested a 41-year-old Nyngan woman.
“She was taken to Cobar Police Station and charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug and one count of possess prescribed restricted substance,” officers said.
“The woman was granted conditional bail to appear before Nyngan Local Court at a later date.”
