Man arrested following overnight police pursuit through suburban streets

A MAN has been arrested by Orana Mid Western Police officers following a vehicle pursuit through the streets of Wellington. Officers will allege that the driver of a black Nissan X-Trail was suspected to have been in possession of a firearm. “The male driver, a 25-year-old unemployed Wellington man, accelerated away from police on Pierce Street at 10.30pm and reached speeds well in excess of the speed limit,” a report by police states. A number of police units commenced an extensive patrol of Wellington to search for the man. The male driver was refused bail and will appear in Dubbo Local Court on Monday, December 3.
