Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs has compared critics of JK Rowling and the Fantastic Beasts series to President Donald Trump.

When asked about the controversy surrounding the franchise and JK and director David Yates decision to not explicitly reveal the romance between Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald, Jason asked: Are you talking about a few people on Twitter?

No, Trump often goes “people are saying” and you go “wait, no one is saying…”. There is no controversy, the only way to measure is it who goes to see it, a small amount of people can make a huge amount of noise.

Speaking at the 2018 British Independent Film Awards, Jason told Metro.co.uk: First of all, there has only been two of five films, and second of all it is seen all over the world by every single culture and every age group.

And mostly Jo is a master story teller, so if I had to have faith in anyone it would be Jo and not people on Twitter or studio execs. I would like to see whatever Jo has in mind, anyone else trying to guide her is on a fools errand.
