When is Miracle on 34th Street on TV and who is in the cast?

The original Miracle on 34th Street was released in 1947 and won three Academy Awards including Best Writing and Best Original Story.

A remake of the movie was released in 1994, giving it a more modern feel and an all-star cast.

It follows the story of a woman and her daughter who dont believe in Santa Claus but this is challenge when a man called Kris Kringle starts working at a department store and claiming he is the real Santa.

When he is accused of not being the real thing and his sanity is questioned he is helped by a lawyer to prove he really is Santa.

When is Miracle on 34th Street on?

The 1994 version of Miracle on 34th Street airs on FIlm4 on Sunday 2 December from 1.25pm.

If you are waiting to watch the 1947 original version of the movie, there isnt a confirmed date yet but it is set to appear on Film4 and Sky Christmas this month.

Who is in the cast?

Richard Attenborough plays the role of Kris Kringle in the movie and claims to be the real Santa Claus.

During the film he tries to convince Dorey Walker, played by Elizabeth Perkins, and her daughter Susan who is played by Matilda star Mara Wilson.

The Practice and American Horror Story actor Dylan McDermott also stars as lawyer Bryan Bedford who is Doreys boyfriend.

Other actors to feature in the film include J.T. Walsh, Simon Jones, James Remar, Jane Leeves and William Windom.
