Kate Connor has been hiding a whopper of a secret from her fiancée Rana Habeeb as she has made plans with Robert Preston for him to be their sperm donor in Coronation Street. With Rana not exactly climbing the walls with excitement over them starting a family so hastily anyway, its bound to go down badly. But things get more complicated when Robert has a change of heart.

Robert lies to Michelle Connor about where he is going as he heads to a consultation at a fertility clinic with Kate. Michelle can tell that she is being lied to and confides in Carla that something is amiss and its clear that its due to the fact that he wants a baby and she doesnt.

When Michelle later heads to a counselling meeting relating to Ruairi, Robert spots her while with Kate and bundles Kate into a cupboard in a panic. Its a close shave and after the meeting, Robert confirms to Kate that he wants to go ahead with their arrangement – now its time to tell Michelle and Rana the truth.

They both prepare to head home separately but when Michelle talks to Robert and says she will consider trying for a baby with him, he changes his mind about his commitment to Kate and dives out to try and stop her coming clean to Rana. But will he make it in time?

Beyond this, Kate will be determined to try anything to get pregnant and this leads to her making a plan to seduce Adam Barlow, something which threatens to rip her relationship with Rana apart.

But there is a resolution to the drama on the horizon as Metro.co.uks TV source recently confirmed that the couples wedding will soon be back on.

They said: The wedding is still very much on the cards. Kate and Rana will reunite and like all strong couples in soap, they will find a way to come through the rocky times. The wedding will be back on.

One to watch: Friday 14th December at 8:30pm on ITV.
