Its the end of an era for Sylvester Stallone who has hinted that Creed 2 is likely his final appearance as Rocky Balboa.

The Hollywood actor shared an emotional video on Wednesday which he filmed on the last day of filming on the blockbuster movie earlier this year.

It features Sylvester, 68, delivering a heartfelt speech to the cast and crew and stating that his days of playing Rocky are over.

The actor wrote in the Instagram caption: I just want to thank everyone around the whole wide world for taking the Rocky family into their hearts for over 40 years.

Its been my ultimate privilege to have been able to create and play this meaningful character. Sadly all things must pass… and end. I love you Kind and generous people , and The most wonderful thing of all , is that ROCKY will never die because he lives on in you [sic].

In the video clip, Sylvester says: Well, this is probably my last rodeo because, what I thought happened and has happened, I never expected.

I thought Rocky was over in 2006, and I was very happy with that. And then all of a sudden this young man presented himself and the whole story changed.

He continued: It went on to a new generation, new problems, new adventures, and I couldnt be happier because as I step back because my story has been told, theres a whole new world thats gonna be opening up for the audience, for this generation.

Giving his co-star Michael B Jordan, who is the lead of the Creed movies, a firm hug, Sly added: Now you have to carry the mantle.

No pressure, Mike.

It looks as though Michael, 31, is happy to continue without his godfather after recently revealing his hopes to continue playing his character Adonis in many Creed movies to come.

So the fight isnt completely over just yet.
