Brockie wishes stunning goal for Downs ‘was ‘on TV’

Cape Town – Mamelodi Sundowns striker Jeremy Brockie says he is delighted with his stunning volley during Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Leones Vegetarianos in the CAF Champions League.

Brockie scored the opening goal with a cracking volley from inside the area after a cross came into the box from the left.

Themba Zwane later wrapped up the points for the visitors in the Preliminary Round first leg clash in Equatorial Guinea.

Speaking after the game to Sundowns' official Twitter account, the New Zealand international said: "So the ball ended out on the left and Mosa Lebusa swung a nice ball in. It hung nicely in the sky.

"First time left foot volley into the far corner so one of those goals where you wish it was on TV, but I'm sure the video analysts would have caught it for me.

"And, it was tough conditions – hot and humid. But, the boys put on a professional performance and got the job done. Now we just have to make sure we finish it off at home."

The return fixture is scheduled for next week Wednesday at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

Kick-off is 19:30.
