Australian Federal Police are continuing their investigations at a residence on Nasmyth Street in Young on Wednesday afternoon. A spokesperson for the AFP confirmed earlier that the NSW joint counter-terrorism team was conducting operational activity in Young. At this stage, its believed that police have not arrested or charged anyone. “The NSW joint counter-terrorism team can confirm it is conducting operational activity today in the regional NSW town of Young,” the AFP spokesperson said. Tents were set up in the front yard of the residence as AFP and other police officers came and went. AFP say investigations are continuing with police still at the site about 3pm. The AFP announced that this matter is not related to a previous counter-terrorism operation conducted in Young. “There is no information suggesting a specific or imminent threat to the community.” The AFP said it is not appropriate to comment further at this time.
