Struggling to get into the festive spirit? Send a Christmas card to a farmer

2018 has been a challenging year for our farmers so its time to send them some heartfelt festive cheer. Fairfax Media, have partnered with charity Rural Aid to support the Christmas Cards 4 Farmers drive. We are calling on children to make a Christmas card with their own design and write a special message inside for a farmer. Schools, preschools and childcare centres are encouraged to take part, as well as individual families. The cards cannot be larger than 12cm x 17cm and must be mailed to Rural Aid no later than Monday, December 10, 2018. Christine said adults could even participate if they wanted to use the card-making activity as a way of showing their support for farmers. “Designing a card and putting a special message inside it can make a massive difference, and its also a fun Christmas activity,” she said. “Children could make the card at their school or childcare centre, or even at home.” Rural Aid CEO Charles Alder said Australia Post would deliver the cards and collect them from the charitys Queensland headquarters. Our kids have such amazing hearts and we though with just a few weeks to go our kids might want to show their appreciation to our farmers and what better than by sending a personalised Christmas card. So come on kids, lets do it.

Heres the finer details:

  1. Make a card with your on words and design. NOTE: The cards cannot be larger than 12cm x 17cm. You could fold a bigger card down to that size but this is the MAXIMUM size that will be sent out.
  2. Put all of the cards in one big envelope and mail or courier them to Rural Aid. The charity will put your card in an envelope and address it to a farmer.
