Wests charging against Tuggeranong as Bartlett get first ton of summer
No score is safe against Tuggeranong United.
That's why Western District-UC know their Douglas Cup opener is anything but won despite posting 352 against Tuggeranong at Chisholm Oval on Saturday.
Ethan Bartlett (138) was the anchor for Wests with a near-flawless knock while Joe Cooke (53), Matt Condon (53) and Callum Taylor (53) all made the same contribution on a flat deck.
United skipper Shane Devoy (4-73) was outstanding in a mammoth 31-over stint and Jason Floros took four of the final five wickets to stop Wests after 95 overs.

Condon emphasised they'll have to start well on day two if they're to stop a Tuggeranong outfit that shattered records and posted 3-430 in a 50-over match two weeks ago.
"Obviously Tuggers have a pretty substantial batting lineup and being their ground and a flat deck it's going to take a decent effort to restrict them," Condon said.
"Those guys hit 400 a couple of weeks ago, they have a very quality batting lineup so well need a few early wickets and get on top from the start."
Bartlett is enjoying another stellar summer and averaging 56.8 after eight digs but the latest effort was his first century this season.
"Ethan played a pretty solid knock with the 140-odd and Joe Cooke early on, they really set the platform for a big target on flat deck," Condon said.
"Ethan has been a quality player since he made the move from Wagga five or six years ago and hopefully we get a few more seasons out of him and knocks like today.
"It was a pretty chanceless innings, it shows his class to have that patience to grind and then cash in later in the day."
Meanwhile, Chamod Herath (118) was the pillar for North Canberra-Gungahlin against ANU as knocks from Lachlan Whatmough (69) and Sam Taylor (49) helped them to 8-305 at Harrison Oval.
Liam McKnight (3-54) was the pick of the ANU bowlers while Owen Chivers took two sharp catches.
Ginninderra sent Queanbeyan into bat and the visitors posted 160 thanks to Vele Dukoski (81 not out) and Leigh Walker (57) at Kippax Oval. The Tigers are 2-39.
Eastlake batted first at Kingston Oval and were skittled for 119 by Weston Creek Molonglo with only Ryan Batley (34) making more than 20 runs.
Openers Harry Medhurst (3-39) and Djali Bloomfield (2-9) wreaked havoc with the ball while Thomas Atallah (2-7) and Aidan Cowie (2-18) also proved handy.
Creek made 5-146 from 31.2 overs before declaring as Robert Trickett (59) top scored and have Eastlake 1-12 at stumps.
