Sabrina Carpenter might be the most famous person you dont know properly yet.

Or, maybe you just dont know that you do. You know?

While you might have seen her in Disneys Girl Meets World, or as Hailey in The Hate U Give, you might have also heard her tunes as she released latest album Singular: Act 1 this month. Or maybe its because you follow her on Instagram, where youd be standing side by side with 15.4 million other punters who scroll through her feed.

Maybe you saw the video clip to her latest song, Sue Me, which, after not even has a week has over 3.4million views.

Whatever it is, 2019 is set to be the 19-year-olds year after a stellar 2018 which saw her crank out some acting projects before finally making the decision to focus on the tunes.

Honestly its me wanting to keep myself busy other than just writing so I wouldnt feel stuck, Sabrina told Metro.co.uk in how on earth shes keeping her plates spinning. Its how I could film a couple movies, tour a bit and travel some more. Its been a crazy experience and because Im still so young Im taking in these things for the first time.

Shes got her head screwed on right and, after touring with Ariana Grande on last years Dangerous Woman dates in Brazil, she has come to learn a lot from her former backstage buddy following the superstars tragic year.

I think to see the way she has dealt with pain and turned it into such a positive way to help others is super inspiring, Sabrina said. Its something I wanted to see more of in music and its something I admire about her for sure.

The slashies first album Eyes Wide Open came out in 2015, then EVOlution in 2016 – cram in some movies and TV shows and how anyone can handle her schedule is beyond the brain.

Admitting some days are easier than others to get up and get going, she added as long as she focuses on the good, shes able to get out of her head.

Sometimes I can only think about whats wrong, other times Im so distracted and having fun I only see the positive, she said. I think you take it day by day and learn how to know yourself better and deal with those situations and when you are feeling a little trapped inside your head.

Hailing from Pennsylvania, the star started acting when she was 11, and was signed a year later, admitting she always wanted to be famous, so perhaps avoided the trap weve seen other Disney stars fall into, such as Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez, who battled with the equilibrium between fame and life.

I think I wanted it for some reason. I think I liked challenging myself as a young girl and still do, so it was something I knew that came with it, she said of being in the spotlight. Obviously there are things that come with it down the road that youve not signed up for, like that its not one job but a thousand.

With fame comes great responsibility, and after she posted on Instagram encouraging her followers to head to the booths for the US mid-terms last month she entered the section of political celebrities who are dipping their toes in formal matters.

While the likes of Taylor Swift were slammed for deigning to get political, her motives questioned, Sabrina has reconciled stars have a responsibility to use their voice to mobilise.

Im a first time voter and Ive been taking all of this in and learning as much as I can, and I still am, but were able to vote for a reason and we have a voice that should be able to be heard as much as anyone else, she said. Its taking power into your hands and becoming your own person and forming your own opinions on multiple different things. Its very much in our hands and if we dont do something someone else will.
