Catch & Store Energy: Fair Harvest Festival this weekend

With a theme for 2018 of Catch and Store Energy, Fair Harvest Permacultures annual festival is on once again this weekend. Boasting a fantastic lineup of both entertainment and informative experts, the festival delivers sustainable and realistic solutions for a healthy and environmentally conscious lifestyle. Alongside demonstrations of electric and veggie oil vehicles, bike-powered appliances, wind power, biogas and hot water systems driven by compost, attendees will have the chance to check out the latest in permaculture design, pasture improvement and animal keeping, thermal cooking and sustainable building design. Catch the Eat Your Greens group as they demonstrate food drying, fermenting and storage; Anthony Smith from Eco Wastewater Solutions discussing compost toilets and grey water systems; and hear from Jamie Moir about harnessing flower power with bees. Bee Winfield from Merri Bee Organic Farm will talk Biogas, while in the Yoga Barn, Ute Coleman will lead a session focusing on the energy from Sound Bowls. The ever-popular Charlie McGee and The Formidable Vegetable Sound System will be back to entertain the crowds, with a sundowner set to follow music from Arcana Rose.
