Will Smith is terrified to follow Robin Williams performance as Genie in Aladdin

Will Smith has revealed that he was terrified to play the Genie in Aladdin after Robin Williams incredible performance in the original movie.

Yeah, we dont blame him.

The I Am Legend actor will be playing the Genie in the upcoming live action version of Aladdin.

Despite the characters bubbly nature, you might be able to detect a hint of terror in his voice, as Will admits he was terrified to follow Robins performance.

I was terrified doing the Genie after Robin Williams, Will admitted to Entertainment Tonight.

But I found a lane that pays homage. It is my own thing, you know? So, I think people are going to love it.

Its one of the greatest filmmaking experiences that I have ever had, he continued. I have worked at most of the studios, and Disney just knows what they are doing.

It was really a spectacular team of people that came together around a classic story. Its so spectacular, its such a beautiful movie and I cant wait for people to see it.

While the trailer was released back in October, the films set to drop in May 2019 in the US and we could not be more ready.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, the films set to feature an amazing cast, including Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar.

To make the exchange even cuter, Wills wife Jada Pinkett-Smith posted a wholesome AF tribute to Sheree.
