Hollyoaks spoilers: Shock death as Russ Owen is murdered on his wedding day to Mercedes McQueen
Mercedes McQueens sixth wedding ended in utter devastation as new husband Russ Owen turns up dead in Hollyoaks.
Mercedes had hoped for the perfect sixth wedding, but it ended far worse than any of the others – someone murdered her husband.
The day didnt start at all well, and descended into utter chaos when the church erupted into a slanging match as Myra put two and two together and realised Russ was the father of Goldies baby.
In the cold hard light of realisation, Mercedes lost it, having heated words with Russ and blurting out that she cheated on him with Sylver, and an angry Russ confronted the carpenter.
As Russ spoiled for a fight, Sylver tried to back off, but Russ calling Mercedes a slag was a step too far and they came to blows, with Sylver mashing up his hand in the process of tacking Russ.

Sylvers mum Breda also wanted in on the action, confronting Russ, who angrily told her hed be taking everything from Mercedes; the boys, the business, and keep all of his money.
Later, Sylver was seen washing the blood off his hand in the pond when a high pitched scream rang out – rushing into the workshop he found Mercedes stood over the dead body of her groom. Shed checked his pulse – Hed been murdered!
Mercedes stormed off as Breda clocked that Sylver had blood on his hands – was he the killer? The police would throw the book at him given his previous.
Elsewhere a devastated Mercedes vowed to her mum to find Russ killer and get revenge. And she had an idea of who it might be.
She confronted Sylver, but her cousin denied it was him, pleading with her to believe him. But before they got too far the police showed up to arrest their suspect – Mercedes.
And as the cell door closed on the bride the true identity of the killer was revealed – along with the truth behind Glenns murderer. They were one and the same.
Liam had held the WAGs hostage and had concocted a little game, each one would drink a cocktail and one of the drinks would be spiked with poison. A little game of Russian Roulette to avenge the death of his dad.
But as one by one the WAGs said what really happened that day, it became clear none of them had killed Glenn as each had lost their poison in one way or another. With Liam hellbent on killing someone he produced a gun, but his brother managed to talk him around.
As things came to a close the killer of both Glenn and Russ was revealed – it was Breda! Sitting with the two children she told them there was nothing she wouldnt do for them. Russ had signed his own death warrant by telling her hed take the children from Mercedes.

Will she let Mercedes get sent down for her crime? Will she watch her son get questioned and possibly jailed for murder?
Bet Jack will be glad he didnt get that date after all.
