After the disaster of Insatiable, Netflix has finally turned it around and may just be killing the diversity game thanks to shows and original movies such as Elite, To All The Boys Ive Loved Before and Sierra Burgess Is A Loser.

And we may soon be able to add Dumplin to that list, if this trailer is anything to go by.

Starring Jennifer Aniston and Patti Cakes star Danielle Macdonald, the film follows an outspoken and confident plus size teen known to her friends as Will, and Dumplin to her mother, a former beauty queen who now runs the local Miss Teen Blue Bonnet pageant.

An avid Dolly Parton fan, Will has a job and her best friends and ignores the comments about her weight.

But when she decides to enter her mothers pageant in protest, all hell breaks loose as despite her insistence that she is not the Joan of Arc of fat girls, others follow in her footsteps as they look to redefine what it means to be a beauty queen.

Adapted by Kristin Hahn and directed by Anne Fletcher, the woman behind The Proposal and 27 Dresses, Dumplin also stars Drag Race star Ginger Ming, Lady Birds Odeya Rush, Dove Cameron and Harold Perrineau.

Dumplin hits Netflix on 7 December.
