Marvel boss spills the tea on Captain Marvel and compares The Eternals to Guardians
Kevin Feige is king of spilling the tea, and has done just that by giving us some intel on the upcoming Captain Marvel film, as he also dished some deets on The Eternals, too.
Hes good like that.
The MCU studio president started off by giving us an insight into what we can expect of Carol Danvers, as we get our first glimpse of Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson, on the big screen next year.
Admitting the history of the comic book character goes back quite a long way (well, her first appearance was in 1968, so hes not wrong) and is confusing as heck, he added theyve narrowed down a comic era of the woman theyll be riffing off in the film.
He told Bionic Buzz: The one were doing is based on Carol Danvers and in particular the Kelly Sue DeConnick [comic] run, which has only been around the last few years but is really quite inspirational for us.
So while the film, out in March, will be based in the 90s, we will be getting, perhaps, a more modern telling of the character (DeConnick worked on the series from 2012-15) compared to diving deep into her old-school Marvel psyche, as she first appeared in 60s.

The studio is also working on The Eternals, which is said to be hitting screens in 2020, believed to be set a million years ago (hows that for a jump?) about the mystical Celestials – who now we know were behind the creation of the Infinity Stones – and Deviants, who would go on to battle.
Epic.
While the studio boss wouldnt give too much away, seeing as we still do have a while to go until things go into production wed imagine, he did compare the film to Guardians of the Galaxy, which didnt have much hype before hitting screens and, as we now know, became a runaway success.
[I can say] very little when it comes to Eternals, but I will say your reaction about not being familiar with The Eternals is perfect because most people werent familiar with Guardians and believe it or not there were people who were not familiar with Avengers or with Iron Man, he said.

Hold up – there was once a time when people werent familiar with Avengers? Well we strain to remember that.
He added: So for us, its finding great stories whether people have heard of them or not and bring them to the big screen in as an amazing way as we can.
