KSA aims to develop its growing creative economy

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia is “paying great attention” to the expanding creative economy, according to Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed Al-Swailem, executive chairman of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property.
He led the Kingdoms delegation at the first World Conference on Creative Economics in Bali, Indonesia.
It also included representatives from King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, and the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage.
“The creative industry is a global competition and the leadership of the Kingdom … is paying great attention to this growing economy,” said Al-Swailem.
He added that modern technology provides a global bridge for economic and cultural relations by providing equal opportunities for all, regardless of age, gender, background or geographical location.
He also thanked the Indonesian government and the organizers of the conference, and praised the great efforts they are making to take care of and preserve the rights of creators.
The conference aims to promote the creative economy as a catalyst for communication and understanding that can help to forge economic and cultural relations.
