It had been hoped that Coronation Streets latest Weatherfield One would be home in time for Christmas, but it looks like that might not be the case.
Sophie has been campaigning hard for her mums realise after her wrongful imprisonment for fraud, but with the trial coming up, it looks like Sallys bid for freedom will not be successful and shell be left to spend a miserable Christmas behind bars. Perhaps Sophies actions in tonights episode have a bigger impact than first thought.
Actress Sally Metcalfe has seemingly confirmed Sallys dismal Christmas of prison food, revealing the thought of the seamstress being behind bars breaks my heart.

But all is not a total loss for the incarcerated mum, with the actress hinting that Sallys release is on the horizon, and that it might be a wake-up call for the character.
It would be nice to take her in a different direction – maybe because of what shes been through in prison, shell come out more community-led, she said.
She might be looking after people on the Street, making sure Ritas okay. But shell probably just get it all wrong. I just want her to have learned a few lessons about herself.
I think prison has really made her look at herself a bit more, who she is inside, and how important her family is to her. Shes realised that Tim and her children are everything.
But with Gina getting closer to Tim, could Sallys eventual return home be filled with sadness?
