Cheryl was living in a negative space as she reveals real reason for four-year break
Cheryl has claimed that she needed to take a four-year break from the music industry for her sanity.
Admitting she had had enough, the pop star has revealed how she was left jaded after years in girl group Girls Aloud, her time on The X Factor as a judge, and being in the spotlight for over a decade.
Chez is now back with her first single in over four years, but she has suggested that she had got to a point in life where she wondered what she was doing.
I needed [the break] for my sanity. I honestly didnt know how much I needed it until I did it. Id just had enough, she said, I wasnt inspired, I was jaded. It felt like a negative space I was living in and then you get to the point where its lie, what is the point?
Speaking to The Sun, she added: I could be doing something I hate doing and feel the same way, so why am I like putting myself through this? I like a balance. I like peace and harmony in my life.

The 35-year-old is just days from releasing a new track titled Love Made Me Do It some four months after she split from the former One Direction band member Liam Payne, and the father to her child, Bear.
But she has insisted her new single is not throwing shade, despite lyrics such as: Im such a sucker, I fall in love with ever fucker.
Thats the easiest thing for critics to write, the Mirror reports she said of the release, prepped for the 9 November.
But actually, all the music and songs Ive got ready were done way before we split…none of them are about anybody.
