Some would say Christmas begins at the start of December.

Others would say it kicks off as soon as the soundtrack of the holiday, Mariah Careys All I Want For Christmas Is You, appears in the charts – which is exactly what happened earlier this week.

While the majority of the country still grapples to remove the remnants of their Halloween costumes, the 1994 yuletide hit has re-entered the top 100 on US iTunes for its annual Christmas outing.

And people are losing their minds.

The news promoted a wave of hilarious posts and memes from Christmas-lovers around the world, who took to social media to celebrate the annual feat.

Happy November 1st. Are we ready for All I Want For Christmas to start climbing the charts again? one Twitter user remarked, while another commented: Its that time of year where Mariah Careys “All I Want For Christmas Is You” rightfully reclaims its spot at #1 on the charts.

And a third added: Not to be dramatic, but tomorrow is November 1st. Michael Buble and Mariah Carey are defrosted. Its time to rock around the Christmas tree. Time to start baking cookies. Spooky season is over people!!!! Its holly jolly season!!!!

Others used GIFs to express their happiness:

Even The Diva herself got in on the action, taking to the social media platform to compare Halloween Mariah to Christmas Mariah – in a way only Mariah would know how.

This year will be the 24th time the iconic song has entered the charts, having dominated the music world ever since its release in 1994.

And while the Christmas winner is yet to make its mark on the UK charts, were waiting over here with open arms.

Wide. Open. Arms.
