Harry Potter star Tom Felton is going through a tough time.

Well, not Tom exactly, but the troubled character he plays in the music video for James Arthurs new single Empty Space.

James, 30, debuted the stunning visuals for his new single on Friday and, frankly, the video has turned out to be just as heartbreaking as the song.

Directed by Andzej Gavriss, the clip sees Tom, 31, playing a heartbroken ex-boyfriend reminiscing over a past relationship by watching home videos of happier times.

However, the downward spiral begins and Tom – or his on-screen alter-ego at least – descends into an unhealthy lifestyle of drinking, trashing his apartment and stumbling through the streets alone at night.

Simply put, hes not looking his best.

It all ends with a car crash so theres no happy ending with this tale sadly.

The former X Factor winner previously said of the track: This song is for anyone who has ever deeply loved and lost someone dear to them, and is then faced with the struggle of trying to fill that void. It is about coming to terms with the fact that only that special person can truly fill the empty space.

Lyrics include: Ive been drinking, Ive been doing things I shouldnt do / Over thinking, I dont know who I am without you.

Im a liar and a cheat, I let me ego swallow me / And thats why I might never see you again.

Empty Space is expected to feature on James anticipated third album although details are yet to be confirmed. It follows on from the unprecedented success of his comeback in 2016, which included the number one album Back from the Edge and chart-topping single Say You Wont Let Go.
