Clueless is getting remade after 23 years, as if there was room to improve on perfection
Urgh, as if we needed more proof that you shouldnt mess with a classic.
Clueless is now reportedly being brought back two decades after Cher Horowitz and her Beverly Hills cronies shaped a generation and fans have reacted with a resounding no.
Deadline Hollywood claims Paramount Pictures is remaking the early Nineties hit that gave us with Chers digital wardrobe, the plaid skirt suit and long socks look, and still has searching for our most capable-looking outfit.
The original, which earned $56million in the US, was loosely based on Jane Austens 1815 romance novel, Emma, with Alicia Silverstone (Cher) playing the Emma Woodhouse to Paul Rudds (Josh) George Knightley.
There's a reason #Clueless did so well at the time imo. One…the cast. Two…the fashion. Three…it was the 90's. Remaking the movie now (Or at all) is bad business. Somebody in Hollywood needs to be fired for that idea asap.

I really don't think a #Clueless remake is a good idea. The original will always be better!

They don't get #Clueless! It's ours and let them think of another one! Come on!

The high school drama starred the late Brittany Murphy (Tai), along with Stacey Dash (Dionne), Elisa Donovan (Amber) and Donald Faison (Murray).

This time, Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver will reportedly produce, while Marquita Robinson has been hired to write the script.
Twitter fans expressed their disappointment that Hollywood is messing with the legacy of Clueless on Thursday.
Putting its success down to the cast, the fashion and the 90s, one fan argued that remaking the film ever was bad business.

Another suggested that there wasnt room for another Emma remake, while one other said there was no scope to improve on perfection.
Others suggested that the current generation should get their own film because Clueless is ours.
And on whether or not Clueless fans will be watching, there was just two words: As if.
