Tyler Hoechlin returns as Superman in first pictures from Elseworld set but whats the deal with the black suit?
Superman returns, but not as you remember him.
Teen Wolf actor Tyler Hoechlin was back in costume this week but this time Superman was sporting an all-black version of the iconic red and blue suit.
Tyler is getting back into character as Superman for the Arrowverse Elseworlds crossover and early reports suggest The Man of Steel is either in mourning, or turning evil.
In the comics, the beloved superhero sported a black suit in the Death of Superman storyline, in which he was resurrected after being killed by Doomsday.
Henry Cavill was originally supposed to wear the black suit in Justice League but producers decided against it to keep the film upbeat and positive.
In the latest set pictures, Tylers Superman can be seen reading off an ancient manuscript and looking to the sky.

In a departure from the comicbook depiction, his monochromatic suit is completed by a black cape.
Superman will appear in all three parts of the Elseworlds special, which will link up the worlds of Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow.

Tyler has been playing Clark Kent since 2016, when he first appeared in TV show Supergirl.
The Elseworlds series is expected to air the debut of Ruby Rose as Batwoman, which was announced in August.
Grimm actress Elizabeth Tulloch will plays Supermans Lois Lane in the latest depiction.
The Elseworlds Arrowverse crossover begins in December with The Flash.
