Coronation Street is gearing up for an awkward showdown tonight as Mary Taylor deliberates over whether to expose her lying son Jude Appleton to his oblivious wife Angie. Angie is well aware of her husbands dishonest past – this was a guy who spent around a decade pretending to be a marine biologist – but she recently decided to give their marriage another chance when he seemingly saved Roy Croppers life.
Of course, it was actually Ali Neeson who saved the day and Judes facade of training to be a paramedic was discovered by Mary who also learned he had accepted a hefty cheque from Roy for the course he wasnt taking.

But as she confronted him, he lashed out angrily and hit her to the ground, leaving her shaken. Jude wants to keep a lid on everything as he knows this would be the final straw for him and Angie and tonight, he strives to act as though nothing has happened as he prepares to accept his Good Samaritan award, without even a hint of irony.

As he arrives at the ceremony, Angie looks on proudly and really does think he has turned a corner. But Mary arrives and has had enough of his duplicity. Will she expose the shocking truth to everyone gathered? And will this be the end of the line once and for all for Jude and Angie?
Victoria Ekanoye recently told Metro.co.uk that while she hoped they could eventually patch things up, this really could be it as Angie can only take so much. And she also hinted at dark scenes still to come in the storyline as more lies spiral out of control.
With the Appleton marriage on the rocks, Victoria reckons that Angie would do well to be single and concentrate on George for a while – but she wasnt ruling out a resurgence of the chemistry between her alter ego and Adam Barlow.
Coronation Street continues on Wednesday 24th October at 7:30pm and 8:30pm.
