Teachers travel to Thailand for tour of school

During the most recent school holidays, Margaret River SHS Principal Andrew Host and International Relations Coordinator Angela McCoy visited Phayao Pittayakhom School in Phayao, Thailand.

During the visit, the educators conducted meetings with the schools administration representatives and took a tour of the campus, while Ms McCoy visited the schools enormous library and took in a student performance.

Ms McCoy said the school would host a reciprocal visit next year. “The Phayao Pittayakhom School students and teachers will visit Margaret River SHS in May next year and then students from Margaret River will visit Thailand the following year,” she said.

“We are looking forward to welcoming them to our school, where we will conduct the sister school signing ceremony.”

The school, located in the northern region of Thailand between Chinag Mai and Chiang Rai, educates 3,500 students from Year 7 to Year 12.

This week, Margaret River Senior High School hosted representatives from two Indonesian schools to sign Memorandums of Understanding to confirm the sister school relationships as part of a wider cultural exchange and awareness program at the school.
