The first rule of any soap newcomer is never trust them. Ever. There is clearly something dodgy about Leyla Hardings new boyfriend Clive in Emmerdale. From the moment that he was reluctant to join her in the village and started fobbing her off with excuses, we knew heartbreak had to be around the corner for Leyla once again.
As she returned to the village without him and instead got confronted by his ex who accused her of stealing both Clive and her jewellery, Leyla started to realise that she had been a fool to be taken in by Clive.
But when he then did turn up, her feelings were up in the air again as he begged her for another chance. What does become apparent though is that Clive clearly has a past with Frank Clayton who recognised him when he saw him.
Former con man turned good Frank is suspicious over Clives intentions towards Leyla and when he overhears him having a phone conversation, it appears that his doubts are confirmed.

Frank steels himself and tells Leyla exactly who Clive is and how he knows him and Leyla is left heartbroken by the devastating revelation.
