Mary Taylor is about to face the wrath of her compulsively lying son Jude Appleton in intense Coronation Street scenes and actress Victoria Ekanoye, who plays Judes exasperated wife Angie, has warned that everyone has underestimated what he is capable of.

When Mary learns that Jude has been lying about attending a paramedics course, she is dumbfounded and then goes on to find a cheque for £5000 given to him by Roy Cropper. As she confronts him over his duplicity, he cant lie his way out of this one and Mary tells him she is going to tell Angie the truth.

But things soon turn nasty, leaving Mary horrified and wondering if she ever knew her son at all.

Victoria warned: I think if Mary is to find out about Judes lies it could impact on Mary more than Angie. Angies dealt with this before and would have to accept this is just who he is whereas Mary still has her rose tinted glasses on. Marys only just got her son back, and the family unit, and she wants everything to be perfect. I think Angies heart would really go out to Mary.

I think sometimes she wonders who is this man I married, he lied so easily every single day for two years, do I really know him? Hes not the man she thought she married, for this to work they would have to go back to scratch and start again. I dont think she really knows who he is or what hes capable of.

Discussing the storyline as a whole, the actress continued: Once the trust is broken its really difficult to fix, I dont know how Angie is still there but one of the things Ive loved is playing against how I would act naturally. Shes very bitter and angry at times and thats never how I would be, it doesnt solve anything. Sometimes I dislike Angie and thats what makes her great to play. Yes she can be hard at times but I think its self preservation.

I love working with Patti and Paddy and having the chance to flesh out the characters. We did the comedy section with Judes fake workmates which was hilarious so then to also get to play the drama and the heartache has been really good.

And it seems like there is plenty of heartache afoot…
