Jacob Gallagher has realised that he is starting to fall for teacher Maya Stepney – the new girlfriend of his dad David Metcalfe. But while David is oblivious to anything untoward developing, Emmerdale fans are starting to grow concerned for Jacob.
We saw another flash of Mayas darker side during an argument with spiteful teenager Leanna. Granted, Leanna was definitely provoking her former stepmother by accusing her once more of being a gold digger and hitting her with other vile comments but Maya shocked everyone by reducing herself to Leannas level and hitting back with cruel comments.
Unable to keep her temper in check (a very important skill for a teacher!) stunned Leanna into silence by saying that she was an accidental pregnancy and her mother never wanted her. As David reeled from what he had seen, Jacob persisted in defending Maya.

Now we cant demonise Maya for snapping at Leanna – even a saint would lose their patience once in a while there. But concerned headteacher Jessie Grant has already expressed concerns with regard to her safeguarding contact after she gave Noah a lift home, actions which prompted Noah and Jacob to have a punch up when Jacob defended her honour.

Its clear that Jacob is letting his heart soar Mayas way and given her kid comments and her linking arms with him, is she fanning the fires of his attraction either accidentally or deliberately?
Tonight, Jacob will fall even harder for Maya as he seeks her attention more and more and basks in it when he receives it. But just how serious are things going to get? Will Maya pick up on the signs of the teenage crush and seek to nip it in the bud or will she remain ignorant of how Jacob feels?
Or worse, could she even actively encourage it and bring scandal to the Dales as she betrays her position in his life?
