Rapper Quavo has set the record straight after garnering widespread backlash over a song on his newly-released album, in which he appears to throw shade at late rapper Lil Peep.

The Migos star, real name Quavious Keyate Marshall, posted a message to his Twitter page on Monday clarifying the lyrics of new track, Big Bro, which forms part of his self-titled debut solo album, Quavo Huncho.

The track features the lyrics: Think you poppin Xanax bars, but its Fentanyl / Think youre living like rockstars but youre dead now, which many took as a diss against Lil Peep, who died in November last year just two weeks after his 21st birthday following a fatal Xanax and Fentanyl overdose.

However, Quavo has insisted this isnt the case.
