Emmerdale will tonight confirm the outcome of Sarah Sugdens heart transplant and determine whether Debbie Dingle will finally have a reason to cry tears of joy rather than despair. Following the disappearance of Joe Tate and her mums incarceration for the acid attack, Sarah felt overwhelmed when she was wheeled through for her operation but she knew it could be her last chance. But there are always risks so will she live or will she die?

With Debbie back in her prison cell waiting for news on Sarah, Charity and Faith retain a vigil by Sarahs bedside. With doctors and nurses monitoring her, the pair are told that it may be up to 48 hours before they can wake Sarah and see if the operation has been a success.

But a turn of events soon gives cause for concern and as Faith and Charity unite in their worry for Sarahs welfare, they are further troubled when the doctor cant give a straight answer on whether Sarah will come through this.

After all that she and her daughter have been through recently, this would be either the breaking point or the reason for Debbie to fight for her freedom.

But fans will have to tune in to find out whether Sarah is going to be okay.

Meanwhile, Cain has worries of his own as the police come calling to ask questions about Joe in relation to Debbies instructions for him to be attacked which led to Ross injuries. As graham Foster watches, Cain tries to hold it together as he insists that he isnt Joes keeper.
