Ruby Allen is set to take the brave step of reporting her rape to the police in EastEnders tonight after a heart to heart with Stacey Fowler gives her the courage to make a statement about the crime.

Following Staceys recent doubts after seeing a picture of Ruby sharing a kiss with Ross during the party at E20, Rubys confidence has taken a knock and even though Stacey insists to her that she believes her, Ruby points out that if she had to question her, then a jury of 12 strangers will never take her word.

Determining to move on with her life, Ruby arrives at E20 to face her demons but as the night still haunts her more than she realises, it proves to be harder than she anticipates and her behaviour soon leaves Stacey worried about her state of mind.

Seeing a lot of herself in how Ruby reacts to being back in E20 for the first time since the incident, Stacey sits her down and they talk through what happened to Stacey when she was raped by Archie Mitchell.

As Stacey explains her feelings and Ruby relates, Ruby is strengthened to know that Stacey understands more than she previously realised. With Stacey pledging her unwavering support, Ruby heads to the police station and makes a report but will Ross and Matt be arrested?

As the police launch an investigation, Stacey and Martin are asked to make statements but Martin is already in two minds about whether he believes Rubys version of events as Ross and Matt have been telling him a different story.

Will he support Ruby and Stacey and make a fair statement on Rubys behalf? Or will he try and sabotage her case and pour doubt on what she has been so brave to open up about?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday 16th October at 7:30pm on BBC One.
