The NSW Office of the Childrens Guardian are hosting a free workshop for anyone in the community who works or volunteers with children.
The aim of the workshop is to help people who work or volunteer with children to make their workplaces a safe place for kids.
The workshop will cover topics including: creating a child safe culture, practical tools to use, risk management strategies, how to handle complaints and your legal obligations under the Working With Children Check.

The Childrens Guardian in NSW Janet Schorer said the workshop is important to promote the interests and rights of children and young people.
“Child Safe training has been highlighted by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse as having an important role to play in keeping kids safe from abuse and neglect,” Ms Schorer said.
“Our experienced trainers travel the state bringing with them information, tools and resources that you can use in your organisation to help kids feel welcome and safe,” she said.
Local organisations, employers, paid workers, volunteers and self-employed people who work with children are strongly encouraged to attend one of the free Working With Children Check Workshops at the Nyngan Rugby Club on Wednesday, October 24 from 10am until 4.30pm.

Ms Schorer also said their Child Safe training is also available as an eLearning course at www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/childsafe-elearning.
