Local big wave surfer Jarryd Foster has been making a name for himself in the water recently while tackling some of the regions biggest swells but the tradie has also been winning awards out of the water for his own plastering business.

After growing up in the surf, Foster was drawn towards the bigger waves at the age of 15 because there is so much raw power in the South West area.

As a teenager he started towing in behind a jet ski and caught the bug of flying high speed into the giant walls of water around Yallingup and Gracetown.

Some of the biggest waves hes surfed were at the mecca of big wave surfing, Nazare in Portugal.

The amazing waves were peaking around the 70 foot range and Foster was getting amongst it but also got the most brutal beating and hold down of his life.

And when hes not flying around the world chasing the monster surf, he applies his plastering trade to many local buildings.

After recently winning the regional commercial ceiling for the stunning Amelia Park Lodge Tavern, life is good and he hopes his next win will be a big wave award.
