A devastating nightmare that Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk have been anticipating with dread but never able to prepare themselves for is about to commence in Emmerdale tonight as Chas goes into labour to give birth to a baby they know will not survive.
The stag night of Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden gets underway and Chas and Paddy are able to forget about their traumatic situation for a time as they even take to the stage and perform some karaoke.
But then Chas realises that she is in labour several weeks early and she and Paddy have to get their heads around the fact that their tragic situation is about to unfold. Next week, Chas will cradle baby Grace in her arms and she and Paddy will be transported to a fantasy version of the future where grace survives and they become a normal family unit.
But after uplifting and hopeful scenes, they return to reality with a bang and as Grace passes away in her mothers arms, the parents are left broken hearted.
