The two teams will clash in the final of the competition for the second successive year with Matsatsantsa having won it on penalties in 2017.

However, McCarthy in his second year in charge of the Citizens, feels his side is wiser and have gathered enough experience to get their revenge against Kaitano Tembo's coached side.

"When I took the job, I said, I don't want be in this job for ten years and I'm only contesting my first cup final. Fortunately it's only my second and twice we have been in a final," McCarthy told SuperSport.

"Yes, I want to win it for the players, I think they deserve it. They have put in all the hard work and the effort. They deserve to be in two finals. We don't want to become that team that gets to finals, but can't get over the line.

"The boys have been calm and we have been training on things that we should improve and on the basis of the good second half comeback we had against Orlando Pirates.

"We are trying to get everyone back fit and everyone on song because I want to have the best team to select. I want to have a headache, who to leave out and who not to leave out.

"We want to put all our efforts and energy into this because it's not going to be easy. Supersport have found their range now and the last game they clinched a 4-0 win. So it's not going to be an easy game for us, but come Saturday it's going to be a completely different ball game."

Kick-off is at 19:00.
