Solinas: 3 wins is nothing for Kaizer Chiefs
Cape Town – Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas says winning three Premiership matches in a row means nothing and the side must continue to improve.
Following an uncertain start to the campaign, Chiefs rebounded with three consecutive victories over Cape Town City, Free State Stars and AmaZulu.
As such, the Glamour Boys have climbed to third in the standings and are just one point behind Absa Premiership leaders Orlando Pirates.
Nonetheless, Solinas has explained that not having a full pre-season with the side impacted early results, however, he has since begun to get his philosophy across to the players.
He said: "(In) football (you) need time to improve and you need a lot of training sessions to fix the mistakes to improve.
"We didn't start well because we didn't have the pre-season together and we played a lot of games in a short time and there was not time for training. But that's not an excuse, this is the reality.
"The instrument for improvement is the training session. If you play, play, play and no training, (there is) not time to fix the mistake and no time to understand the philosophy.
"But I'm very happy and I always believe in these guys because I saw the effort, the concentration. The fatigue they put in the training session. When the team prepares for the game in the manner that these boys prepare for the game, I'm optimistic because they prepared for the game very well.
"Concentration in the training session. We only need the time for understanding the manner to play and also understand the characteristics of every player.
"Now we need to continue to improve because the three wins is nothing for Kaizer Chiefs. This is normal for the club. So, we need to keep the feet on the ground and continue to improve and work hard.
"I'm very happy because I can't complain with anyone. Every player in the training sessions is unbelievable."
