The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan is still hung up on playing the DC character Lobo.

Back in 2009, the 52-year-old revealed to MovieWeb that he thought it would be cool to play the much loved antihero Lobo, as rumours circulated the character was getting his own movie.

At the time, he spoke about his build to the publication and joked that he wasnt big enough for the role.

He said: Lobo would be very cool. I dont think that Im as big as Lobo is, but if you could transplant Mickey Rourkes body on my head, that would be just great.

However, despite it being almost a decade since his confession, it appears the star is still hopeful that he could one day get his dream role.

While his Walking Dead co-star Norman Reedus instantly chose Ghost Rider and Silver Surfer as the characters hed like to play, the Negan actor appeared to be less sure and mulled over the Fantastic Four.

He said: Fantastic Fours been done, though. I mean, I like the stretchy dude.

Before adding: The only one I want to play is DC and Lobo. Hes badass. Marvel, I dont know, everyone thats in it is pretty good. I feel like all the greatest characters, theyre working.

But before he makes a move on the character Lobo, Jeffrey has the release The Walking Deads season 9 to keep him busy.

A new trailer dropped for the AMC show at the end of last month, which teased at Rick and Maggies joint exit.

In the clip Daryl can be seen telling Rick: Back in the beginning, you could do anything.
